PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Tewantin Bypass is the final link in the upgrade of Noosa’s major
arterial road network, with planning identifying the Cooroy-Noosa Road and Beckmans Road intersection as the first location for an upgrade. Stage 1 of the Bypass consisted of the design and construction of a new two-lane roundabout designed to ease congestion, improve safety and traffic flow at the Cooroy-Noosa Road and Beckmans Road intersection within the Noosa Shire.
JC CIVIL PROJECTS ROLE
JC Civil Projects was engaged to undertake an independent review of the
drawings, BOQ, and 50% design summary information. They developed an independent first principles cost estimate and report, detailing input for risk and opportunity. JC Civil Projects' services aided the Noosa Shire Council in their design development and tender evaluation once released to the market for construction of the project.

KEY DELIVERABLES
JC Civil Projects played a pivotal role in several aspects of the project, including:
-
Review the proposed Tewantin intersection upgrade and prepare a staged construction delivery program, including detailed traffic control plans.
-
Provide comprehensive commentary to Noosa Shire Council on the final Independent cost estimate report, highlighting project risks and opportunities.
-
Offer ongoing support and expertise throughout the design
development and tender evaluation phase, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives
KEY PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
Upgrade from a T-intersection to an at-grade roundabout
complete with:

Pedestrian refuges
-
On-road cycle lanes
-
Protected off-road cycle paths with crossing points to travel through the intersection

the most efficient use of project resources and maximised project
capabilities.
