PROJECT DESCRIPTION
BUMA aspires to become the premier mining services provider in
Australia, currently operating across six sites nestled within the Bowen Basin, Queensland, namely Meandu, Goonyella, Commodore, Blackwater, Burton, and Broadmeadows.
With a bold vision to double its revenue within the next 18 months, BUMA aims to achieve this through expanding its mining services portfolio and potentially acquiring additional mining operations in Australia. This ambitious growth trajectory will generate a substantial surge in goods and services demand, offering suppliers a unique opportunity to engage in long-term performance-based supply contracts and join BUMA on its journey of expansion and success.
JC CIVIL PROJECTS ROLE
JC Civil Projects was engaged by MacKellar to manage preparation, drafting and review of weighted selection criteria responses for the BUMA master hire agreement.
This encompassed ensuring compliance with operational requirements, comprehensive equipment coverage, sufficient capacity, adherence to BUMA Master Hire Agreement terms and conditions, competitive hire rates, and collation of all supporting documentation.
JC Civil Projects managed this process end-to-end, from inception to completion, delivering the compilation of the final submission to BUMA.
KEY DELIVERABLES
In support of the BUMA bid, JC Civil Projects worked closely with MacKellar Mining’s senior management, key bid stakeholders and subject matter experts to spearhead the delivery of the master hire agreement response criteria including:

Drafting comprehensive response schedules, addressing key evaluation critieria including MacKellar’s organisational structure, details of key personnel and their previous experience in supplying heavy equipment hire to the mining sector within the Bowen Basin region

Preparation of all supporting documentation, including a compelling cover letter demonstrating MacKellar’s unique value proposition

Overall coordination, review and finalisation of all documentation, ensuring readiness for submission and a well-rounded and competitive response.
KEY PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
Establishment of a Panel of Preferred Suppliers of Heavy Mining Equipment Dry Hire for all future requirements of heavy mining
hire equipment for BUMA’s current and future projects, and potential acquisitions of mining operations.
OUTCOMES AND ACHIEVEMENTS
MacKellar were successfully appointed as a preferred panel
member for dry hire of heavy mining equipment for a 3-year term Master Hire Agreement (MHA) with an option to extend for an additional 2-years.
